The aerial attack on the Russian capital appears to have been the largest in more than a year<\/strong><\/p>\n Three civilians were killed and more than a dozen others were wounded by a large-scale Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian capital and its surrounding region on Saturday night, local authorities have said.<\/p>\n Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanian said on social media on Sunday morning that a total of 127 UAVs had been destroyed by air defenses during the previous 24 hours. He described the raid as “massive.”<\/em><\/p>\n The attack appeared to be one of the largest Ukrainian drone raids targeting Moscow in more than a year.<\/p>\n There have been several major UAV attacks on the capital in recent months, but the number of drones deployed by Kiev during them never exceeded 65.<\/p>\n Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyev confirmed that three people were killed during the attack.<\/p>\n Two men died when the debris of a downed drone fell on a home construction site in the village of Pogorelki near the city of Mytishchi, adjacent to Moscow in the north-east, he said.<\/p>\n Another UAV struck an apartment block, killing a female resident in the city of Khimki, north-west of the capital, while another person remained trapped under the rubble, according to Vorobyev.<\/p>\n Moment a Ukrainian drone crashes into a residential building in Moscow. https:\/\/t.co\/vEcAt6Pf5M<\/a> pic.twitter.com\/q0ZEdHpV2R<\/a><\/p>\nFatalities in Moscow Region<\/h2>\n
